Cornell Global Hubs Research Seed Grants – Call for Applications

Cornell faculty are invited to apply for competitive $5,000 Global Hubs Research Seed Grants to initiate or expand collaborative research with selected Global Hubs partner universities.
These seed grants offer early-stage support for projects with strong potential to build long-term international partnerships and secure future external funding.
🏅 Award
– Up to 20 awards of $5,000 will be granted.
– All research topics and disciplines are eligible.
– Projects must comply with applicable U.S. and partner country regulations.
🧪 Research Areas
Open to all fields of study.
✅ Eligibility Criteria
– Applicants must meet Cornell’s PI eligibility requirements.
– Graduate students, postdocs, and research staff may participate but cannot serve as PIs.
– Faculty from Cornell (Ithaca), Cornell Tech, and Cornell AgriTech are eligible to apply.
– WCM faculty are not eligible to apply as PIs in this cycle.
– Projects must include collaboration with at least one colleague at an eligible Global Hubs partner university.

Applications open: September 8, 2025
Applications close: October 15, 2025, 4:00 p.m. ET
Award notifications: December 17, 2025
Project start date: January 1, 2026
