This scheme supports transdisciplinary research teams to develop innovative research agendas at the intersection of Genomics, Humanities, Social Sciences, and Bioethics.
💰 Funding & Duration
Up to £500,000 per award
12–24 months duration
Open to researchers worldwide (except mainland China)
👥 Who Should Apply? (Team Requirements)
Collaborative teams (Lead Applicant + 1–4 Co-applicants) must include at least:
1️⃣ Life Scientist
(Genomics, Bioinformatics, Genetics, Molecular Biology, etc.)
2️⃣ Humanities / Social Sciences Researcher
(Bioethics, Anthropology, Law, Sociology, History, etc.)
3️⃣ Wider Stakeholder
(Community or Patient Groups, NGOs, Policy Makers, Industry)
🎓 Lead Applicant Criteria
PhD or minimum 4 years of equivalent research experience
Based at an eligible non-profit or academic institution
Open to all career stages (Early, Mid, Established)
🎯 Key Focus Areas
Ethical, legal, and social contexts of genomics
Equitable and engaged research models
Advancing discovery through transdisciplinary collaboration
